Pontiac Repair: 2002 pontiac sunfire, light fuse, fuse box

Question
Just a couple of days ago the service light came on and stayed on then it went off.  Yesterday the same thing happened but when i turn the car on the daytime lights (light) on the dash came on flickering fast and making that clicking noise (same sound as when your light is burnt)  do you think it is my daytime light fuse that must be changed?   Or something else?  please let me know.  Thanks so much.  Kimberly

Answer
Hi Kim:

I see your from canada so I'm going to say you live in the rust belt up in the great whit north? If so the issue here is wiring concern with the DRL's that are a few splice connections in the forward lamp harness that corrode and then the DRL's quit working along with the headlamps too either hi or lo beam will stop working. The body control module controls the DRL relay in the fuse box and that is the clicking noise you hear and due to the wiring issue that cause the lamps to quit working. I suggest if your going to keep this car to have the harness replaced instead of having it repaired. A repair will only last a winter if your lucky the elements damage the harness and or the repairs. good luck :0
