Pontiac Repair: G6 stalling, drain tubes, sun roof

Question
Hi Todd, My 2005 G6 v6 was sputtering/stalling at stops - eventually engine light came on - received code for MAF sensor - replaced sensor and ran well for two weeks before problem started again. Now engine light is staying on and received 'reduced engine power' error message today, though car still starts back up and will just randomly stall when idling low.
Thanks, April

Answer
Hi April:

is the car still setting a MAF sensor code? The reduced engine power lamps light will set is there is an issue withe either the throttle body unit of the gas pedal assembly. Does this car have a sun roof? has it been really rainey there? If so the sun roof may be leaking water into the car and there is a connector on the lefts side of the dash board where the gas pedal wiring attaches to the rest of the cars wiring harness and if the water leaking from the sunroof get into that connector just what you say is happening happens.. As far as the sun roof the drain tubes come off the sunroof asemby behind the roof hedliner. That is where I would look first if the car is now setting a APP (gas pedal) code(s). Good luck :)
