Pontiac Repair: Sunfire interchange., chevy cavalier, pontiac sunfire

I have a good motor and transmission for a 97 Pontiac Sunfire I am trying to find a body, could you tell me what other cars it will interchange with.  Thank You, Ardena

Hi Ardena:

A sunfire is a "J" body car the only other "J" body car Gma had back then was the Chevy Cavalier. It has to be a 1997 body 96 and 98 had big changes and the electronics's for the engine will not match up to this engine and transmission you have. actully 98 had a different version of the 2.2 liter engine altogehter. depending on where you live ther should be plenty of thses cars still around.
