2001 pontiac grand prix gt trans, does not shift right all the time when cruise control is used

??? You lost me here. when the cruise control is on the car isusally in 4'th gear already so there is no more up shifts. when you disenguage the cuise to slow down and hit resume is that when you have an issue? if so what does it do or not do?
