Pontiac Repair: ABS,TRAC,BRAKE, pontiac grand am, abs light

Question
Hi Tim,  I know you have had a question about this before but I have been struggling with this for a very long time now. Mine is a little different only because my abs, trac and brake light all come on after hitting an unknown bump or pothole. I can drive to work and back every day which is 72 miles and the lights will not come on, as soon as I go onto a new route boom the light are on. I can usually make them go out by turning the car off pumping the brakes drive it a short time repeat pumping brakes and the lights go out. I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT1.  I also would like to avoid the expense of replacing something that isn't broken just to find an answer. I know you are probably thinking that I am a girl and don't know but I can tell you by listening to a sound on a car what it usually is. I have been working on cars since I was little.
Thanks for any help

Donna

Answer
if the ABS light has come on then there is a code stored in the system, if you can get ahold of a scan tool or have a local parts store scan it, that would be good.  The code will lead you to the source, that model is famous for hub and bearings and EBCM's, the later being around $1000.00
