Pontiac Repair: bonneville misses if drove above 65 mph, fuel pressure regulator, spark plug wires

Question
My 93 Bonniville V6 starts missing and check engine light comes on if you drive above 65mph for more than 5 min. If you kick it down and slow down below 65 it stops missing. also when it is first started, it will not accelerate if you don't let it set run for a minute before starting out.

Answer
Hi gary:

well there a few things this could be. The running poor on a first start I would look at a possable leaking fuel pressure regulator it may have fuel elaking into the vacuum line on the regulator. Look at that first. It could have a abd set of spark plug wires or a burt wire at 1 spark plug. If you ahve the car put on a scanner and see what codes are stored you will be able to tell what cylinder(s) are misfiring and go from there. Those are 2 things to look at first. Good luck :)
