Pontiac Repair: 2001 pontiac gran am clutch and slave cyl. replacement, pontiac gran, gm parts

Question
what is a reasonable cost to replace the clutch and slave cylinder in a 2001 pontiac gran am?

Answer
Hi Steven:

Well I'm not a $ guy I just fix 'em so I would say labor time would be about 5-6 hours times the labor rate of the shop plus the parts. DO NOT GO AFTERMARKET on the parts. Use only original equipment GM parts. The parts may be another $400.00 or so for clutch throw out bearing and pressure plate. The only wild card here is the flywheel If it can be machined or need to be replaced. it depends on how long/how bad the cluth was slipping. Good luck :)
