Pontiac Repair: bleed brakes, wheel cylinders, abs system

Question
i have a 93 sse,the brakes go to the floor. if i pump them i can get the front to lock up,how do i bleed them. could this be the problem. thank you. DC

Answer
Hi Dc

well first off does this car have an ABS lamp that is commming on? If so the abs system could be causing your issue and not a basic brake problem. This car has diaginal brakes meaning the 2 halfs of the master cylinder feeed different corners of the car. 1 half feeds the lf and rr and the othere feeds thr rf an lr so I don't think you have a master cylinder issue if both front tires lock up that's what makes me think you have an ABS issue here. also make sure the fluid is full in the master cylinder if it's low or you may have a leak in the system. The rear wheel cylinders on these cars had a tendency to leak! Good luck :)
