Pontiac Repair: 2001 sunfire starting problem, lock cylinder, sunfire

2001 sunfire 2.2 try to turn it over car will fire shut it off. Car will just crank after 4 or more times car will start. When it running runs fine      help me rob

Hi Robert:

when it will not start/stay running does it have a security lamp that comes on? If so it has a factory secuity system issue more then likley a ignition lock cylinder housing probelm. If it just will not start you have to see what the engine is missing when it wil not start. It needs fule pressure in the area of 45 PSI and it needs spark on all 4 cylinders. Once you know what the engine is missing you can go from ther to find the root cause. Good luck :)
