Pontiac Repair: starter relay, pontiac sunfire, car wont start

Question
i have a 99 pontiac sunfire 2.2 liter that has had the factory recall down for the ignition relay to the starter. i think the relay is bad my car wont start and the starter wont crank but i can cross the starter and turn it over. testing the relay wires i have power going to the relay from the sylonoid and power from the purple ignition wire when we attempt to turn the car over but i get no power going from the relay down to the starter. is that a bad relay and where can i get a new one tried the auto stores but they are 5 prong where mine is a 4 prong.

Answer
Hi Brad:

That is a Dealer only relay. It sounds like the relay is bad to me Or possbaly the ground connection for the relay is bad. Follor that harness for the relay down the black wire is the ground. Make sure it's clean and tight wher ever they mounted the ground wire to. It can be to the starter it's selg. The negine block or the body. Good luck :)
