Pontiac Repair: 98 buick 3800 with 1 dead coil pack, ohm meter, plug wires

Question
I swapped a good coilpack with the one that had no spark and the original bad location still did not fire.  Does this mean the ignition module is bad?

Answer
Hi Bill:

If you took a coil that was dead and moved it to another position and it fires in the new spot The ignition module is bad. If you moved it and it still will not fire the coil is bad. If you have an ohm meter measure the coil across the secondary towers where the plug wires go and it should be between 4,000-6,000 ohms. The primary side when it attaches to the module should be less than say 2 ohms. good luck :)
