Pontiac Repair: Upper radiator hose, upper radiator hose, channel lock pliers

Question
The upper radiator hose to my 1996 Bonneville SE burst this morning.  I will attempt to replace.  Are there any special tools or special tricks to  complete replacement

Answer
Hi Frank:

there are spring clamps on the hose there is a special tool to remove them but a good pair of channel lock pliers will work to remove the clamps. It's a pretty straight forward job. while your at it but the lower hose as well if the top one went the bottom one is not far behind.. Also this car uses Dex-cool antifreeze that is orange in color do not buty the green stuff for this car. Good luck :0
