Pontiac Repair: Transmission, pontiac transport, delta 88

Question
I need to know what other vehicles have the same transmission as a 1993 Pontiac Transport. I'm not sure if I can get mine rebuilt or not and I'd just rather have it replaced. I have rough idling and gear shifts so it's time for the transmission to be replaced.

well it depends on what engine and what tranmsission is in the van. there were 2 engine sizes for that van but most of them were the 3800 V6. with a 4 speed tranmsission and some were 3.1 liter V6 with 3 speed transmission. I would say 95% were the bigger engine and bigger transmission. If it is indeed that one that transmission also fit a Bonneville,Lesabre,Delta 88. but the big deal with it is the final drive ratio in the transmssion. If that is wrong the speedo will not work right it will be to fast or to slow.. Any GOOD auto parts recycler will be able to tell you what parts will fit in your van. Good luck :)
