Pontiac Repair: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, pontiac bonneville, 2000 pontiac bonneville

Question
I replaced the battery and the dealer calibrated the radio. Everything now works but there is no sound.  Dealer wants to send radio out for repair stating that jumping the battery damaged the radio.  Is this correct or is there something else I can do?

Answer
Hey Dave:

It is possable fo that to happen when jump starting the car. do you know if this car is equpped with an amplifier or not? If so it could be the amp that wehn bad and not the radio. Both can be damaged when the car is jump started It's rare but it does happen. The electronics are VERY sensitive and if the car was attempted to be jump started when you had the key in the run position on your car it surely can happen. Good luck :)
