Pontiac Repair: 2001 sunfire rear grab/lock, ac delco, wheel cylinders

Question
I recently purchased a 2001 sunfire. after it has been setting overnight the next morning when you go to brake it grabs in the back and sets the back end down.  After braking a few times it evetually goes away until the next day.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Monty:

It's a few things it could be. Either you have wheel cylinders that are leaking brake fluid onto the barke shoes and the brake shoes are "stickey" or the brakeing material on the shoes is absorbing the moisture from the air and the first few stops the the mositure is making the shoes grab the drums.. Either way you going to have to replace at least the shoes. And depending on the condition of the drums either have them turned or get a pair of new ones. Buy ONLY GOOD quaility shoes like Bendix or Raybestos or AC delco durastop shoes. Do not buy any 'el cheap-o shoes! Good luck :)
