Pontiac Repair: 1990 pontiac grand am, intec 4, crank sensor

where is the crank sensor on a 2.5 pontiac grand am?   its not the quad 4 i think its just called an intec 4

Hi Dale:

The crank sensor is attached to the back side of the ignition module. The ignition module is bolted ot the side of the engine block betwen the engine and the transmission. I belive there are 3 bolts that hold the module and coil assembly to the engine. once you pull out the three bolts wiggle and pull out on the module/coild and it will come out of the engine.
