Pontiac Repair: pontiac 2002 sunfire died on me, happenes, timing chain

  it is 2002 sunfire with 2.2 eco engine 2 door ,new battery also - i was driving down road when it died on me everything  shut off-everything comes on when try to start it - it wont turn over-also there was a clicking noise coming from under the hood to before it died on me. thank you so much

well, as for the nose before it quit what type of noise was it a clicking ticking noise? when you try to start it does the starter try to crank the car over but nothing happenes? if not crank no noise at all? The noise you hard may have been an engine mechaniocal type noise like a timing chain in the engien chattering. It could be something Very bad like a timing chain broke and it locked up the engine and that is why it will not turn over or crank. If it just will not crank at all it could be some sort of a electrical issue It matters as to which direction to look at the problem.
