how to remove starter from 94 pontiac transporter van with 3.1

Hi Ron:

The starter will come out the bottom of the van. disconnect the battery first then the wires at the starter motor. then remove the screws that attach the plastic cover around the starter that protects the flywheel. Then remove the 2 bolts that hold the starter to the engine block. Then you can remove the starter out the bottom. you may have to turn and wiggle it to get it out. Also if you remove the oil filter it makes for more room to work in there. Good luck :)
