Pontiac Repair: Pontiac Bonneville, pontiac bonneville, purple wire

1998 Pontiac Bonneville.  The heater and air conditioner are not blowing any air on all four speeds.  You can here it trying to change when you switch the direction but nothing is coming out of the vents. It was working occasionally but is not anymore.

Does this have Auto matic climate control or just manual control with dials? I would first off check to see if the blower motor has power and ground going to it. You can see the motor from under the hood. unplug it and use a test lamp across the 2 wires the purple wire is power and the black one is ground. turn the fan on HI and see if you have full battery voltage and ground going to the motro connector. if so the motor is bad. If not then you have to trace the loss of power or ground back from the motor. it would have a bad blower relay or resistor if it has manual HVAC if it has Auto HVAC it could be a bad blower control module.
