Pontiac Repair: 05 Pon G6 wipers not working, blown fuse, logical choices

Question
I just got this car in Nov 2008 and ive been back and forth to the repair but this time i havent even drove the car cause it has been in the shop for 2 weeks and when i went to pick it up the windshield wipers are not working. i tried going to a local autozone and they said that they dont carry that part nor the dont even have it listed on the computer. i dont know if it is the motor or a fuse. i dont hear anything when i try to turn on the windshield wipers.

Answer
Hi Kristella:

This car is too new for places like auto zone to stock parts for them. If you don't hear the motor running when you turn the wipers on then It has to be a power feed or a ground issue going to the motor. It's odd for the switches to go bad on these cars so either a blown fuse or a ground wire issue would be the logical choices. Do you live in the cold weather parts? If so did you turn the wipers on with them frozen to the winshiled? That can blow a fuse or break the wiper transmission which is the linkage that attaches the motor to the arms. It can also burn out the motor as well.
