Pontiac Repair: pontiac montana, alarm buzzer, pontiac montana

Question
hi<
I have 99 Pontiac Montana that has a buzzing alarm when shifted out of park coming from the back rear of the van where the jack is stored.

the van has never made this alarm sound and I have no idea why it started it stays on until the van is put in park again , it did shut off and when I went to open the power window it started again , its weird it is coming from the jack storage area though

I have disconected the alarm buzzer bot not sure what the problem is

Answer
Hey Andy:

this Van has the power sliding door option on it and the alarm is telling you the system thinks the sliding door is still open. open the door and loog at the contacts that are on the pillar between the fron and sliding door down towards the bottom ther is a contact plate make sure the copper contact on that plate are not corroded up and green looking. Along with the plungers that are on the door that contact that plate when the door is closed. use a very fine sandpaper on then amd clean them up if they are corroded. that may just be the trick If not there is another fauly in the system somewhere. But 8 out of 10 times the issue is those contacts and plungers. Good luck :)
