Pontiac Repair: 93 Grand Prix, grand prix 3, freeze problem

Question
Hi, my 93 grand prix 3.1 se won't stay running. I left it unplugged one night then plugged it in, in the morning cause it wouldn't turn over.  a few hours later it didn't turn over.  i got a boost and it idled very rough, like a sputtering it died after about a minute.  i boosted it again and it fired right up and sounded "normal".  when i hit the brake pedal it all went to hell. The engine would slow right down whenever I touched the brake pedal and after that first press of the pedal it started sputtering again.  I held the gas pedal to the floor and it would not race the engine, but only sputter.  I was hoping a fuel line freeze problem.  So i continued to let it run like this for about 1 minute and started smelling something burning.  When i backed off of the gas it died.  If its any consolation I have a 5 year old command start in it.  It ran perfect up until I didn't plug it in that fateful night.  Any help appreciated.

Answer
Hi Jeremy this needs an idle learn doe on it. disconnect the batery again. while disconnected clean the throttle body and throttle plate with carb. cleaner. Then re attache the battery. turn off the a/c SET THE PARKING BRAKE and start the car it will start hard due to the carb cleaner. you may have to give it some gast and feather the pedal untill it starts running then drop it into gear and stay in the car incase the parking brake doesn't hold. let the car run for 10 minutes or untill the cooling fan(s) come on for the radiator. turn the key off wait 30 seconds and then repeat the proceedure for another 5 minutes. Good luck:)
