Pontiac Repair: heater causes eletrical problems, pontiac sunfire, voltage drop

Question
D you know what would cause a major voltage drop in a 2004 Pontiac sunfire. Its a basic car no power windows or anything. When I turn the heater on i feel MAJOR vibrations from the motor. I checked all the fuses and somebody told me it could be a battery but i have never had a problem with cranking the car over. It of course went out the day it got cold and i needed it.

Answer
Hi William:

You may just have a bad blower motor. If the motor is going bad it may have a bigger draw that normal and that is the reason for the volatge drop. It may not be bad enough to blow a fuse but enough that you notice it in the lights dimming down. There may be somthe stuck in the fan's cage making it vibrate on hi. The bearings in the motor may be going bad causing the vibration as well.

Good luck :0
