Pontiac Repair: 99 Grand Prix GT-Electrical, windshield wiper fluid, blower motor

Question
Two problems have recently cropped up with my Grand Prix and I am wondering if they are related.

1.The windshield wiper fluid no longer pumps to the windshield (in fact I dont here the pump working) but the wipers work.

2.The blower on the vent/ac/heat doesn't work on the first two settings but does work on 3 or above.

Are these two functions located on the same fuse and do you think that is the cause of the troubles?

Many Thanks,

Steve

Answer
Hi Steve:

I don't think they are related, The washer pump has more than likley gone bad usually nothing else in the system goes bad other than the pump. The blower needs a blower resistor. That is VERY common. Before to long none of the lower speeds will work only high will work. The resisitor's burn out on these cars. Make sure you use only a original equipment part for this the part is redesigned and you should not have that problem again with the blower motor. Good luck :)
