Pontiac Repair: New Car Stereo Problems, pontiac grand prix, aftermarket radio

Question
I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix. I decided to install a car stereo with a C.D. player. Needless to say it was hell getting it out. But my question is the new car stereo wont work and ive tried two other ones as well. For some odd reason it messed with the computer in the car. I am wondering what I should do.Maybe it has a code I need to program or what , I have no idea. I hate not having a c.d player and im desperate. please help. Thanks.

Brian.

Answer
Hi Brian:

I'm lost here. clarify what exactly your trying to do. Are you installing an aftermarket radio/cd player or are you trying to install a GM radio/cd player from a differnt car . If so  and it's a used unit and it had a tehft code in the radio the display will read LOC on the radio. Same with the origianl radio if it was unplugged and it had a theft code input to the radio. If the issue your having is GM radio that the diplay reads LOC then your going to have to take it to a GM dealewr and have them unlock it. Ther is a whole proceedure that has to be done to unlock the radio. If your having issues with an aftermarket radio then I have NO idea where to tell you where to start other than double checking all the connections are correct power/grounds etc...
