Pontiac Repair: timing cam gear, 1994 pontiac sunbird, pontiac sunbird

I need to know how the timing cam gear comes off of a 1994 PONTIAC SUNBIRD 2.0 OHC i recently blew a head gasket and was doing the repair my self but im stuck with the removal of the gear wondering if you can help.

Hi Jason. Ther is a mark on the cam gear that will match up with a mark on the rear of the timing cover at 12:00 The crank gear has a notch on it that lines up with the balancer and the balancer has a timing mark on it Large mark on the timing cover. That is all you need to know. You may want to try autozone.com they have a pretty good how to section called Znet that has pictures for the do it your selfers and step by step repairs. Give them a try If you don't quite under stand what I mentioned above.. Good luck :)
