Pontiac Repair: 1994 PONTIAC BONNIVILLE HAS NO INJECTOR PULSE, pontiac bonniville, injector pulse

Question
I HAVE A 1994 BONNIVILLE WITH ONLY 46,000 MILES IT HAS SAT FOR ABOUT A YEAR.IT HAS ABOUT 40 POUNDS OF FUEL PRESSURE BUT DOES NOT START OR SEEM TO BE PULSING THE INJECTORS.I CHANGED THE IGNITION MODULE BUT STILL NO FIRE.IF IT IS THE FUEL PUMP CAN IT BE ACCESSED UNDER THE BACK SEAT? I CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP CHARGING THE LINE AND STOPPING BUT IT STILL DOES NOT FIRE

Answer
Hi Scott:

how did you check for injector pulse? did you use a noid light or a computer safe test light? Or is it just not getting any fule and you assume it has not injector pulse?? If it's an ssumption then I'd check it with a light. You may have injetors that are being pulsed by the engine computer but the fact that the car has sat for a year the injectors may have gummed up and are not injecting the fuel into the engine. to answer your questiion, no you can't get to the fule pump from the back seat you have to take the tank out of the car to change the pump. Arounf 40PSI is ample pressure to run this car. Does the car have spark on all 6 cylinders? if it has spark It's sort of a safe assumption that the engine computer is getting the signal from the ignition module. If it has no park then it more than likley will not have injector pulse either. Good luck :)
