Pontiac Repair: Dash Lights/AC, Heater, pontiac grand prix, head lamps

Question
1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, V6, 3800 Model II.
Dash lights are out and AC/Heater does not work (although I do get some heat if I drive the car long enough).  Fuses "seem" to be okay. There is a MAIN fuse box under the hood, other fuses are located inside the glove compartment.
AC/Heater controls don't seem to do anything when I turn them. AC is charged, but the fan does not work.  Again, I cant seem to find the problem.

I can make clock/stereo light come on if I adjust headlamp control halfway between on/off. Don't know if this information helps.

Long story short - My whole electrical system seems to be "confused", not a good thing since winter is pretty much here!  Any advice you could give would be great and thanks in advance for your help!

Answer
Hi Glenn:

well I think your dash light issue is the dimmer switch next to the head lamps. You said if you play with the switch it starts to work so That is a clue as to what the issue is with that. All of the dash lights including the radio backlighting and heater controls all go through that dimmer switch. As for the fan not working. It doesn't work on any speed.... You either have a blower motro resistor that os totally burnt out of the blower motor it's self is bad. The resistor is loacted right next to the motor under the right side of the dash under the glove box. Good luck :)
