Pontiac Repair: Electric Door Lock, carpet area, wire colors

Question
Todd, My Pontiac 2002 Montana electric door lock does not lock when I press the lock inside the vehicle.  The door does lock work when I press the lock button on the remote key transmitter. There also is and audible chime. So it does have the capability of locking the doors.  It does not work when I lock it from the button on the door.

Answer
Hi Brian:

well it's more than likely a broken or corroded splice under the right front door sill plate/carpet area. there are 2 splices for the door locks in that harness I think one is white and one is light blue those are the wire colors. If you live in the rust belt like I do or in a place that is very damp water collects under the carpet and corrodes the splices. That van may even have a water leak causing this issue. Good luck :)
