Pontiac Repair: keeps blowing fuses, signal wire, heas

Question
i put a new blower motor in my 2006 pont. montana and when i turn the key on it blows a fuse even with the motor diconnected

Answer
Hi Mike:

well if the fuse only blows when the fan is tuned on then there is a short between one of the speeds from the switch to the blower resistor if it has "manual" HVAC control or a short in the signal wire between the control heasd and the blower control module if it has "automatic" HVAC. you can unplug the resistor or module and see if the fuse still blows. if not the resistor or the module is bad. if it still blows with the conponent unplugged then you have a short in the wiring between the control heas and the conponent. Good luck :)
