Pontiac Repair: wont start, fuel pump, grand am

98 grand am 2.4 started to stop running when coming to stop,now it wont even start,any idea

well my first guess would be a fuel pump as to why it will not stay running when it dies does it run like it's running out of fuel or is it like someone just turned off the key? Does it start hard meaning crank long before it does start? That would also indicate a fuel pump/pressure issue. Any service engine soon lamp on while it's running? That could lead you in the right direction as well. Good luck :)
