Pontiac Repair: 1991 grand prix gtp wont start 3.4l v6 dohc, crankshaft sensor, blown fuse

Question
i turn it over and over, nothing happens i hear the fuel pump working theres no spark ,people say its the crankshaft sensor but how do you get to it when its in the back of the engine infront of the firewall the cars in good shape i would like to keep it.

Answer
Hi Jlowe:

Well it can be a bunch of things. Fist off see if the engine has spark you can get a spark tester cheap at a parts store. crank the engine and see if it has spark on all 6 cylinders. alo see if it has injector pulse. you need a noid light again a cheap tool. if the engine doesn't have spark or injector pulse it could be a crank sensor or an ignition module or even something as simple as a blown fuse. but to answer your question the crnak sensor in in the engine block on the back side of the engine between the engine and the transmission it has a wire harness on it with 2 wires yellow and purple are the colors. Good luck :)
