Pontiac Repair: All the warning lights are going off, grand prix gtp, pontiac grand prix gtp

Question
I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharger, 3.8 V8 recently all the warning lights are going off--ABS, Traction control, Power Steering, Check Engine, the parking brake light, Stability control, all are showing in the DIC and dinging.  We were told it is some kind of module that costs $1,000.00, we have lost faith in the Pontiac Dealer we had our car at when they said the put a light on it and it went dim.  We really need a competent answer so we know what needs to be done.

Answer
Hi Ian:

well to give you an exact answr I would need to know what type of trouble codes are stored in the car to know what the issue could be. but it sounds like it's an abs issue or a issue with the engine control computer and what it is seeing from the engine. the abs/engine and stability systems are all tied together each system uses some inputs from the other system to make the traction/stability control work on this car... It could be something like a module you stated or it could be something really simple like a bad ground wire. this car was nothed for a bad grouns connection right next to the battery on the frame. the connection would corrode or loosen up and it will cause all kinds of wierd stuff including the DIC not wotking corrrectly. Sorry I can't give you and exact answer without knowing some of the codes in the car..
