Pontiac Repair: Brake light on dash, pontiac bonnieville, wheel cylinders

Question
hey i have a 95 Pontiac bonnieville sse and my brake light on my dash keeps lighting up on my dash after i have stopped at a red light or stop sign but turns off after a a second or two. i haven't noticed any difference in my breaking could you give me any advice in why it would be doing that

Answer
Hey Stephen:

I assume your talking about the RED warning light? Not an ABS lamp??? If it's the red lamp the brake system is more than likely low on fluid. take a look at the master cylinder and see if it's full if not then you either have a leak in the system somewhere like rear wheel cylinders or the front brakes are so badly worn that the fluid is low due to that. Good luck :)
