Pontiac Repair: 2005 grand prix interior fan wont turn off., pontiac grand prix, heat vent

Question
Todd,
thanks for any time you have to read and respond to below.

specific model
2005 pontiac grand prix, 3.8 v6.  basic model.  very few
options--basically power driver seat and alloy wheels.

the interior fan for front defrost, heat, vent, etc won't turn off.  even when ignition is off.  I've pulled fuses trying to get it to stop.  I've pulled the dash apart and pulled the plug out of the fan/vent/temp control and it still runs.  it runs the battery dead.

turn fan knob all the way back and forth and it does nothing to control fan speed either, but I would think it would stop when I unplug the entire control unit in the dash.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey paul:

the blower motor control module is bad for fan. the control module is right next to the blower motor it's self. it in the bottom of the heater case under the glove box area. I believe it has either 3 or 4 wires in in. they go bad quite often.
