Pontiac Repair: 94 sunburd 2,0 miss fires, crankshaft sensor, crank sensor

Question
This car misses as if it has some wires crossed (seems to be only cylinders 2 and 3) and throws a Code 19 for about 2 minutes after cranking when cold. When it clears up the Service Engine light will go off,
The following things have been checked and verified:

New plugs (2 and 3 show rich when this happens, 1 and 4 are perfect)
Crankshaft sensor has been check per OEM trouble shooting instructions.
All other sensors and circuits have been checked to be OK
New coil and plug wires
Changed out computer for a known good one
Battery voltage 13+ volts
Fuel pump pressure OK
No mechanical problems i.e. 120# cyl. pressure, cam, rocker arms and lifters OK
Again, always cylinders 2 and 3 and always shows trouble code 19. When it straightens out (after warming up for 2 minutes or so) the check engine light will go out in approx. 10-15 sec.

I am completely at a loss with this vehicle.

Thanks,

Answer
hey doug:

well that 19 code is a clue to what is going on here. that is a crank sensor code. the only parts involved with it are the sensor, wiring and the ecm. I would chck all 3 wires for good pin fit at each end of the ckts. and make sure you do not have excesive resistance in any of the 3 ckts. one of the wires is a drain for EMI/RFI. you could have an ecm issue where it's not sending the proper signal out to trigger the coil for 2/3 cylinders. if you do not have an wiring issues then it's a component propeblem. the problem with that is that it's an intermittant issue. when it runs bad have you checked the 2/3 coil and wires for spark? If I'm not mistaking that has an all in 1 coil/module assembly for that engine it looks like a coil assembly for a motor cycle. it could be an issue with that assembly as well??? I'm sure it's loosing spark and that's why the plugs look rich but the issue is why? like I said it's either an component or a wiring issue..... Good luck :)
