Pontiac Repair: fuel line, car parts stores, fuel fire

Question
1995 3.8 fuel line (the one on the firewall side of the engine) had a small but powerful hole spraying on the engine.  I disconnected the plastic and began to follow it to the firewall then looked underneath and saw the steel line.  Where does it change?  And what does it take to disconnect the plastic from the steel?  Or am I in over my head?

Answer
Hi Dave:
what type model car is this? Bonneville? The transition from platic to steel is under the car. if you goto one of the good car parts stores like NAPA or Carquest they sell repair kits for the plastic lines. It' actually pretty easy to fix. just follow the directions on the package and MAKE SURE when you repair it that It's NOT LEAKING! you do not want a under hood fuel fire on this car! Good luck :)
