Pontiac Repair: 1998 grand prix radio display lights, illumination lights, lighting works

The radio display lights and the steering wheel illumination lights for the radio controls do not work.  On the radio display, I can shine a light an see the clock time and the radio station.  Is it the LCD or some bulb or what?

Hi Erwin:

The lamps in the steering wheel controls burn out and are not replaceable. if all the other back lighting works on all the other switches the switches are just bad in the steering wheel. As for the radio the same thing the led's are not serviceable in the radio as well. You may be better off trying to find a used radio. just make sure it's the exact same part #. look on ebay or or your local junk yard. Good luck :)
