Question
QUESTION: when i put the key in to start it turns only until the lights on the dash come on and radio but wont start. i checked all the fuses. tryed to put it out of gear. took the battery off for four hours and reconnect it. still nothing. what could be the problem?

ANSWER: Hi Melissa:
It can be a lot of things from an ignition switch to a bad neutral safety switch on the transmission to a just plain old bad starter motor. this car was subject to a recall for ignition switch failures. You may want to call your local dealer to see if it was ever done before. With out seeing it it's hard to say for sure what the issue. Good luck :]

QUESTION: i just had a new transmission line put on about three weeks ago. is it possible that has anything to do with it? iam probably going to take it to a mechanic if i can't figure this out soon. thank you for your time.

Answer
Anything is possable. But if that were the case I would look at a few things from that repair. A loose/missing or broken ground wire on one of the bolts that holds the trasnmission to the engine or possably the neutral safety switch on the transmission is out of adjustment.Try tranking the car while moving the transmiion through the gears MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL INCASE IT STARTS IN GEAR!!!!!!!!!
