Pontiac Repair: 1999 bonneville, metal comb, corrosion remover

Question
the car will die driving down the road, the power locks and windows and fuel pump do not work, after it sits  it will restart again. could this be the ground splice on the left side??

Answer
Hi Joe:

Yup Your exactly right! There is a splice pack under left front sill plate. that splice pack corrodes if there is a water leak into the car. it's tucked under the carpet. untape the cover around the splice pack it has maybe 10 wires in it. once the cover is removed there is a metal comb in there that connects all the ground wires together use a small pick and pull it out. Use some sand paper and clean it up and but some good corrosion remover at the parts store the same stuff you would use for battery acid and spary the terminals in the splce. after it's cleaned up and dry put a few dabs of dielectric grease in the termianls and insert the comb and the cover on the splice. Then find the water leak in the car. Good luck :)
