Pontiac Repair: auto parts, pontiac firebird, 3800 v6

Hello, i have a 1996 Pontiac firebird with a 3800 V6. It has an irregular idle and its not steady, with low oil perssure, but when its around 1500rpm it dosnt act funny. Its also losing power. Can you help me?

wel first off I'd look at the low oild pressure first and foremost. Get a mechanical gauge and put it on the engine and verify if it indded had low pressure or just the gauge on the dash is bad?? If it indeed is low Then the engine is gonna have to come out and gone through to see what bearings are worn out causing the low pressure. As for the low erratic or low idel I'd take a look at the throttle plate on this if it's all carboned up clean it and the throttle body bore as well. The lack of power may be something as simple as a plugged fuel filter or it could be soemthing much worse like the engine is lacking compression. Good luck :)
