Pontiac Repair: 1996 Bonneville SSEi, pontiac bonneville, bonneville ssei

Question
I found a hose hanging from the right rear of my 1996 Pontiac Bonneville. There is a motor to the right of the muffler and the hose has deteriorated from heat and age. The are 3 hoses coming off a T. After buying some replacement hose, I could only find two places to connect the hose. I dropped the motor and still can't find the 3rd connection. What is this motor and where do the hoses go? I can't find any refefence or diagrams in my Haynes manual or on the net.

Answer
Hi Paul
I would venture a guess, not having car here, that the motor is the Automatic Level control compressor. Having an SSEi, you have the auto level.
I would guess the hoses (small vaccuum lines) are the lines for compressed air to be distributed to the front and rear struts for Auto level.
If there is only 3 I would suspect 2 go to front and one for rear where it would tee off.
Thats JUST a guess as my information does not include 1996 YM vehicles.
I Hope this helps
Good Luck
