Pontiac Repair: slight jerk, chevron techron, torque converter clutch

Question
I have a 2002 grand prix SE with a 3.1 L V-6.  I have started to notice a slight jerk while driving, especially when going into a small incline.  To me it almost feels like the transmission is having a hard time staying in overdrive, (just a guess). The jerk is very quick and fairly slight. I changed the plugs and wires, and I don't think it is an engine miss. Do you have any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Answer
Hi Brian:

It can be a few things. It can be a slight miss fire due to a lean condition and that on top of the trasnmission being in over drive with the torque converter clutch applied you feel the miss. when it does it hold the gas pedal steady and tap the brake pedal and see in the feel goes away. if so then that is what you are feeling. with out the aid of a scan tool it's hard to tell you what the issue may be. it could be again a miss fire or it could be the torque converter clutch is slipping more than it should and you feel that. try running a can of chevron techron fuel injector cleaner tyhrough the car and see if that fixes it. This is GREAT stuff and you problem could be duew to a partuially plugged injector and it will make the car feel that way driving. follow the directions on the bottle and if you want to add it a bit stronger than recomended. give it a try.
Good luck :}
