Pontiac Repair: Rpm flucuation, pontiac sunfire, 2001 pontiac sunfire

My 2001 pontiac sunfire's rpm's flucuate while driving. Usually happens around 30 miles an hr and 55-60 miles an hr. Was wondering if it was a transmission problem or something else.

Hi Don:

well it could be trans related or a base engine issue. This is something that will have to be looked at by a technician that has a scan tool to look at the engine/transmission dtat to determine what the root cause is. It could be something as simple as a fulel filter is plugged or somenthing far worse. It's really hard to say with out driving it and seeing what it's doing. no service engine lamp on??
