Pontiac Repair: 2000 Bonneville SE A/C wierdness, dual climate, vacuum hose

Question
My car is not of the dual climate control variety but has an issue with a difference in temperature between the two sides of the car. There are four vent assemblies with 2 on each side. When running the AC, I get nice cold air from the passenger side and warm air from the driver side. I have checked the charge on the AC plant and it is fine. I saw an answer for a 2001 dual climate car that says that if the charge is low, there will be a different temp between the two sides, and I am wondering if the situation is the same for this car? Should I bump the charge to the high end of the pressure range and see what happens? Is there a vacuum hose that might be crimped, not allowing the full range of motion on a damper? If so, how much of the car do I get to disassemble to get to it?

thanks very much!

Answer
Hi Dave:

Yes on any of the dual climate controlcars it'd possable for a low charge to cause a tempature change between the right and left sides but just subtle differance. Not huge temp differences. more than likely the temp control motor or the module that controls the temp door has gone bad or even the temp door could be binding in the HVAC box. that's the least likely cause. the most likley cause is the temp actuator has gone bad.these cars do  noy have vacuum controlled doors anymore. they are all electrically operated. good luck :)
