Pontiac Repair: heater a/c problems, pontiac dealer, cabin filter

Question
i have a 2005 grand prix. water went in through the cabin filter fried the resistor. i have a new one put in and the blower fan will not shut off even if the car is turned off and i cannot control the speed. the car has a factory remote start that runs the heater. so what could be causing my problem? is there a relay some where between the remote start and the heater-a/c panel?

Answer
Hey Steve:

9 out of 10 times the blower motor control module is the cause of the motor not shutting off. Did you get an original factory control module for this? The control module is the "resistor". was the connector all corroded up? If the motor is bad it could have fried the new module? chnaces are in the module was filled up with water the motor did to. if the motor has a BIG draw it could have taken out the module. Also there is an updated cover to go on the cowl to stop the water from getting into the heater box. any chevy or pontiac dealer should have that part in stock. Good luck :}
