Pontiac Repair: blower motor, pontiac sunfire, pontiac dealer

Question
I have a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire.  The heater motor is making a loud noise and it only blows on high now. Where is the motor located and why is it only working on high?  Could it be the switch or resistor? I have no idea where either is and is it hard to change either or and the best way ot tell before tearing everything apart?  Thanks for your help !

Answer
Hey Dan:

the blower motor is located under the dash board below the glove box. ther  are just three screws that hold the motor to the bottom side of the heater box. the blower resistor is located right next to the motor it has 2 screws and one big wire connector attached to it. Chnaces are the resistor is bad and that's why speeds the low speeds do not work. Very rarely do the swiches gop bad for the blower motor on these cars. Get a resistor from a dealer the part has been re designed and shouldn't go bad again. The resistor is not all that expensive either I'd say under $40.00 from a dealer. Any chevy or Pontiac dealer should have it in stock. Good luck :)
