Pontiac Repair: theft lock, pontiac sunfire, turn the key

i own a1998 pontiac sunfire and just replaced ignition switch
when i try to start car it runs for afew seconds only ,theft lock light keeps blinking

Hi Ray:

try starting the car when it dies out let the light keep flashing. It will do it for about 10 minutes. When it either goes out or stays on steady turn the key off wait 30 seconds then try to start it again. It should start and sty running the lamp may stay on for 30 seconds or so then go out. If it doesn't start and stay runnning then they is an issue with the pass lock system. Good luck :)
