Pontiac Repair: Engine Stall/Rough Idle, obd ii, pontiac sunfire

Question
I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L that sometimes stalls, has rough idle, and at times will not turn on. I've replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel regulator, cleaned injectors and replaced complete exhaust. I also replaced plugs and wires. Most days the car runs perfect and check engine light comes on. Other days it stalls at stop lights and I have to push it to the side. Apparently someone disconnected the OBD II receptacle because it does not scan or power up. I am totally baffled. What else can I check or replace?

Answer
Hey David:

well first off you need to find out what the code in the computer is that is turning on the service engine soon light. The power to the dlc connector comes from the fue marked "mirror" that's first off. then if you find out the code you have to go from there. My guess is the stalling and the light are the same problem. you could have an issue with a crank position sensor causing the light and the stalling problem. It could be a lot of things but untill you know what's turning on the light I can't help you out to much more... Good luck :)
