Pontiac Repair: 1998 Pontiac Sunfire idle/stall problem, pontiac sunfire, dashboard lights


Question
My Sunfire won't idle properly, and i suffer from low power/stalling issues any time i'm not accelerating from over 30km/hour or greater. Sometimes experience power fluctuation (dashboard lights dimming)
Things replaced (3 different mechanics)
New gas tank and fuel lines
New Fuel pump
New alternator ( i thought this was my power issue)
Cleaned Fuel injectors
Tune up /fluid changes
Over $3000 to mechanics and still have the problem. Please help !!

well lets start withe the basics. you need compression spark and fule to make a car run. I doubt it's a compression issue that is engine mechanical. so lets look at the othere things. spark if you have bad plug wires,plugs or ignition coild that can cause the lack of spark. fuel you said you changed the pump anf filter? so that's not the issue. so one thing that could affect both would be a bad power feed or ground. those cars had issue with ignition switches where the contact build up resistance on them and do not power up the fuses fully. that could give you weak spark or a fule pump that isn't running at full speed. A bad ground wire could do the exact same thing. those cars had issues with bad ground connections under the battery and on the battery tray. whne the dash light dim as that when it's lacking power when running? if so it's look really hard at the power or ground problem. good luck :}
